The Beginning

July 14, 2015

As I begin this blog, I think (at this time anyway) that it will be a blog of few words and many photographs.  I love to take and share photographs and, well, we will see where this takes me.

To begin, here are a few of my favourites from the last few weeks.

Flowers on the mallow plant, in my mother in law's garden.

Hi Jason, thanks for looking at my new blog! I’m not really sure what the plant is, other than mallow. My mother-in-law considers it a bit of a ‘weed’ because grows out of it’s space, but the flowers are so darn pretty. I looked up Sidalcea, but I can’t really tell. I’ll get a better look at the leaves next time I visit her.

Hi Diane, I found your blog via rosebank ramblings and just love your flower photographs. I am hoping to do something similar, but am unsure whether to start a new blog, change my current one or have two!! Too many decisions … Ann

A good start, beautiful photos. I haven’t grown mallow for ages but still have seeds I collected, should see if they’re viable. If my lupins don’t flourish after this year, I’ll just enjoy yours in those gorgeous colours.
Did you set up the WordPress by yourself? I like the page layout and know Linda (Crafty Gardener) is happy since she switched. Others have not been so happy…

Judith, I set it up myself and found it relatively user friendly. I had to play around with several different themes before finding the right one. so far, so good. Thanks for staying with me.
