I added some whimsical features to my garden this year and they have been really fun to photograph.
Orange blooms of the blanket flower contrast with the tiny blue birdhouse.
Bright rudbeckia in the front corner with our border behind. Some decorative birdhouses can be seen on the clothesline pole behind. A toddler’s rocking chair, a yard sale find, serves as a stand for a basket of annuals.
An old wooden stepladder holds the small birdhouses.
My faithful gargoyle, Murphy, stands guard.

The wait for this dahlia to bloom was worth it.
Double rudbekia showing off its pretty colours
A peach-coloured double daylily, given to me by a lovely friend.
Enjoy the blooms where you are.

As I begin this blog, I think (at this time anyway) that it will be a blog of few words and many photographs. I love to take and share photographs and, well, we will see where this takes me.
To begin, here are a few of my favourites from the last few weeks.
Flowers on the mallow plant, in my mother in law’s garden.
Lupines growing wild in rural Ontario.
Cranesbill Geranium showing off its pretty blooms.
